Among its many casualties has been live shows. Thank you to everyone who supported us in any way- you literally changed my life and allowed me to live out my dream.I don’t have to remind you that 2020 has not been a kind year. We are releasing a split this fall and one more final EP this winter.Īnd last but not least, would you like to tell something to your fans, as the last Tour of yours is aproaching? Is there any chance of hearing any news of Lionheart again in the future? We love music and we’ve dedicated over 10 years of our lives to it, but family is always #1. Most of us have families as well, and the amount of touring it takes to sustain a band just isn’t possible anymore. How come you didn’t consider a carrer in music? In a recent statement, you say that all of you have jobs and carrers and that’s why this is the end of the road for Lionheart. I think we probably spent about 3 or 4 months total writing this album. I, along with our long-time guitarist, Evan, write everything. Tell us a little about the composition procedure and how long did it last to finalize your latest album? It’s negative but that’s how life is sometimes and I think this album represents that. The album is dark, heavy, and pissed so I think it fits it well. I thought it was a great title and so I referenced it in our own album title. It was recorded in the early ’70’s and it’s a really sad/ dark R&B song. One of my favorite songs is called “Love don’t live here anymore” and it’s by a singer named Rose Royce. Is there any story behind the title that you would like to share with us? The latest album is called “Love Don’t Live Here”. The music is heavier than ever before and so are the lyrics. If you can’t relate, then the songs probably weren’t written for you in the first place. I just say exactly what I’m feeling and what I’ve been through. Some people like my lyrics and some people do not. My lyrics are very straightforward and I always try to tell a story instead of hide behind some type of pseudo-poetic bullshit. The latest album is more similar to Welcome To The West Coast, but it’s definitely in a league of its own. Having released 4 full-length albums, how would you characterize the latest album when compared with the older ones? We also have plenty of songs where I question that/ my own beliefs. Personally, I believe in “God” but that doesn’t mean I subscribe to the entire Christian dogma.

The “God” line is a footnote to the bigger picture. It’s about facing your fears, struggles, and hardships head-on and without compromise. The heart of the song has nothing to do with believing in God or not believing in God. The song also talks about (literally) pissing on someone, so you have to read between the lines to see the bigger picture sometimes. Do you connect the band with the Christian God? One of your songs “Hail Mary”, shows some dedication and affection to God. So, to me, hardcore is alive and well and in a strong place. I think you get out exactly what you put in to it- at least that’s what I’ve seen over the years. I love hardcore because the music got me through some of the lowest points in my life, and the scene took me all over the world. There’s good parts about it and bad parts. Hardcore is just like anything else in life. It’s a subculture made up of people- some good and some bad. I think you’d be wrong to expect anything from hardcore. What is your opinion about the Hardcore scene these days? Can someone expect great things to come out of it, or is it in decline? I’ve gotten to see the world and meet some amazing people along the way- what more could you ask for? I’ve met so many of my best friends because of this, and had so many experiences and gained so many stories I would have never have had if I didn’t start a band and tour. Meeting people and forming bonds and relationships all over the world has been the best thing about being in a band. Would you mind telling us about this experience? Having played in so many places all across the globe, you got to know many people and many bands. We’ve stayed true to our sound of straight-up heavy hardcore. Being around for this long, you see trends come and go. Where would put yourselves as a part of the hardcore scene all these years? Lionheart have been around for almost 10 years.

A week before their 2 live performances in Thessaloniki and Athens we grabbed the opporunnity and we made a small talk with this great band.
#LIONHEART HAIL MARY LYRICS FULL#
Almost 10 years later with 4 full lengths, the group decides that this is the end of the road. Taking influence from bands like Blood For Blood, Hatebreed, and Ringworm Lionheart came out swinging with a full blown assault of blistering metallic hardcore. Bay Area’s Lionheart came to life back in 2007.
